I think this is the perfect reminder for everyone that no matter how many things are out of our control during this year of unknowns, there is always one thing that we have control over: the type of person we want to be.
Don’t Take it Personally
I’ve learned that part of parenting is learning to not take offense at every candid verbalization. Furthermore, I’ve learned that applying this skill in other situations, e.g. processing expressions or reactions shared by adults, is also helpful.
