Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from the Unexpected Ever Afters! As we celebrate with our families, we wanted to share two Christmas posts from past holidays. Enjoy! We will see you back here in the new year.

-Wendi and Jessica

Jessica: I wrote The Comfort of Christmas in 2020, a Christmas which was full of celebrations that looked very different from the excitement of large family gatherings this year. However, as I reread the post, I was reassured by the theme of the comfort and joy found in the holiday traditions and the knowledge of Jesus during the holiday season. Whether we are navigating a season of isolation or a season of busyness, there is a joy found in The Comfort of Christmas.

Wendi: Three years ago, I wrote The Season of Waiting, and as I reread my thoughts from 2020, I was struck by the similarities to this year’s holiday season. The past few months have been filled with navigating grief, sicknesses, and canceled plans for my family, which has made it difficult to get into a cheery holiday spirit. But as I read the concluding sentences from my old post, I was reminded that even this year, amidst all the disappointments and sorrow, I can also still wait with hope.
